The Boeing High School Scholars Program is a highly selective program that provides students the opportunity to study collegiate level engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Classes include aerodynamics, flight mechanics, astrodynamics, robotics, propulsion systems, and aircraft design, as well as in-depth study of structures and materials, and computer-aided design. Students will collaborate with their peers to learn and apply the latest technology in the aerospace engineering industry. The Boeing Corporation, in partnership with ERAU Prescott, offers full or partial scholarships to cover the cost of an engineering summer program. * (*Scholarships do not cover travel expenses to or from ERAU). HSAP provides current rising high school juniors and seniors with an authentic science and engineering research experience alongside university researchers sponsored by the Army Research Office. Though this commuter program, students will learn research methods and develop skills in critical Army research areas in a university lab setting, preparing them for the next steps of their educational and professional careers. Students receive a stipend equivalent to $10 per hour for 8 to 10 weeks/up to 300 hours. Students also benefit from the expertise of a scientist or engineer as a mentor for professional and engineering research. Students are required to travel to and from the program site daily. In addition, the program does not supply an allowance for housing, meals, or travel reimbursement.

During five weeks for three summers, (HS)2 scholars live and learn on the CRMS campus in Carbondale, Colorado. On weekdays, students engage in six hours of academic classes relating to science, math, writing, and college counseling. In the afternoons, they participate in the Active Program, which includes rock climbing, kayaking, and team sports, as well as art classes such as silversmithing, blacksmithing, and music. On weekends, the natural environment surrounding campus inspires exploration. This unique combination of challenging academics and outdoor activities contributes to the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of each (HS)2 scholar, while the boarding experience cultivates independence and responsibility.
